Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

A pragmatic SRE to manage the infrastructure that powers our ERP, APIs, customer platforms and websites. You'll own uptime, automate deployments, and ensure systems are fast, secure and scalable.

Key responsibilities

• Design and operate cloud infrastructure, including containerised services, databases, storage and networking.
• Own deployment pipelines: build, test, ship and roll back releases.
• Set up and tune observability using metrics, logs, traces and alerts.
• Define SLOs/SLIs and conduct blameless post‑mortems.
• Harden security through secret management, network segmentation and vulnerability management.
• Collaborate with engineering on capacity planning, performance tuning and incident response.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience in SRE, DevOps or platform engineering, with 24/7 production responsibility.
• Strong scripting skills in Python or Go and ability to stay calm during production incidents.
• South African work authorization and willingness to participate in an on‑call rotation.
• Ability to document systems clearly and push back on unnecessary complexity.
