Site Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead our construction and mining projects across South Africa. The role involves overseeing site establishment, managing large teams, and ensuring that production targets are met safely and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate project activities before site mobilisation.
• Establish the site, manage sub‑contractors and liaise with the main contractor’s site manager.
• Take responsibility for all equipment and personnel under your authority.
• Maintain strong client relationships and keep management informed of progress and challenges.
• Ensure health and safety compliance, conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce maintenance routines.
• Track equipment servicing, oversee repairs and manage risk assessments and registers.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate and a Technical Diploma in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or higher).
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in the mining or construction industry.
• Proven ability to lead a team of 20+ people and manage projects with monthly turnover between R 500 000 and R 4 000 000.
• Strong administrative skills, including contract management and a valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Knowledge of diesel engines.
• Understanding of hydraulics, pumps and pipelines.
• Risk assessment and equipment maintenance expertise.
