Site Manager – Bulk Materials Handling

About the role

Zizwe Opencast Mining is looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead bulk materials handling operations. The role focuses on safe, efficient management of coal disposal facilities and related mining infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate materials handling activities on site.
• Manage loading, hauling, stockpiling and plant feed operations.
• Ensure optimal utilisation of manpower, machinery and materials.
• Oversee coal disposal facility operations.
• Compile daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
• Manage operational budgets and control site expenses.
• Maintain compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act and Labour Relations Act.
• Maintain site discipline and operational standards.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Diploma or Degree in Mining or Civil Engineering.
• 5–10 years experience in materials handling or mining operations.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience in construction and management of coal disposal facilities.
• Sound knowledge of bulk materials handling equipment.
• Strong understanding of SHEQ regulations and compliance.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Medical fitness assessment.
