Project Engineer

About the role

Sonke is looking for a motivated Project Engineer to join a fast‑growing team that builds the world’s largest automated refill stores. The role is hands‑on, fast‑paced and involves long hours, tight deadlines and occasional travel to store locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product launches and identify improvement projects across hardware, firmware and software.
• Own the end‑to‑end delivery of assigned projects, reporting directly to the founder.
• Participate in the launch of new SKUBU stores, mapping the tech stack, suppliers and bottlenecks.
• Set priorities to improve technology performance, reduce costs and shorten lead times.
• Collaborate with senior engineers in hardware, firmware and software.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechatronic or Electronic preferred).
• 0–2 years of experience in project engineering or hardware/firmware design.
• Curious, proactive problem‑solver who is comfortable getting hands dirty.
• Coachability and a strong work ethic.
