Site General Manager – Laboratory Operations

About the role

The Site General Manager will lead the laboratory site, ensuring strategic direction, financial health, operational excellence, and compliance with all regulatory and quality standards. This senior leader will drive profitability while maintaining the highest levels of safety, quality, and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership aligned with corporate strategy and develop annual business and growth plans.
• Assume full P&L responsibility, manage operating and capital budgets, and monitor financial performance.
• Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring projects and testing services meet safety, efficiency, and turnaround targets.
• Maintain ISO 9001 and SANAS accreditation compliance and uphold quality management systems.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, manage recruitment, onboarding, performance, and succession planning.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure occupational health and safety compliance and promote a strong safety culture.
• Develop and track operational KPIs, preparing monthly reports for executive management.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Business Management, Engineering, Operations or a related field.
• 12‑15 years of experience in construction management, preferably in materials testing or laboratory environments.
• Proven full P&L accountability and experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, SANAS accreditation, and SHEQ regulations.
