Site Assistant Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Assistant Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy fuel service station in Kempton Park, Johannesburg. The role involves managing staff, handling cash and inventory, and ensuring excellent customer service in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑end management of the service station, including opening and closing procedures.
• Addressing customer queries and maintaining high service standards.
• Recruiting, selecting and supervising station staff, enforcing discipline through appropriate IR procedures.
• Daily cash‑up, petty cash reconciliation and issuing/replenishing cashier floats.
• Inventory control and fuel reconciliation, balancing deliveries against delivery notes and automatic tank gauge readings.
• Preparing remittances for supplier payments and ensuring accurate documentation of delivery notes and labels.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) with a post‑matric certificate or qualification.
• 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a retail or service‑station environment.
• Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced work setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
