Short-Term Insurance Customer Support Agent

About the role

ShiftMate is recruiting Short-Term Insurance Customer Support Agents for a contact centre in Johannesburg. You support customers by phone, email and chat, resolving queries, updating records and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. Short-term insurance covers cars, homes and belongings against accidents, theft and damage, so customers need clear advice on what is and is not covered.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customers by phone, email and live chat
• Resolve queries, update customer records and process routine requests
• Escalate complex cases to the right team and track them to the end
• Write clear, polite messages in good English
• Meet reply-time and quality targets
• Process policy amendments and documents sent by email and chat

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12)
• At least 6 months' call-centre or customer-service experience; email or chat support experience is an advantage
• Strong written English, as you write to customers every day
• Organised and able to handle several open cases at once
• Willingness to complete the regulatory exams and training required to advise on financial products, supported by the employer

Required skills

• Good typing speed
• Confident use of email, chat tools and a CRM
