Shift Technician

About the role

The Shift Technician is responsible for maintaining continuous production on the brewery line during each shift. The role involves monitoring equipment downtime, using the Plant Management System (PIMS) to track performance, and leading first‑line response to any breakdowns related to the technician’s trade.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct walk‑abouts of the plant each shift and monitor downtime using PIMS.
• Take corrective actions for out‑of‑control situations and present throughout each breakdown.
• Provide first‑line attendance for all line breakdowns and assist standby personnel until the issue is resolved.
• Execute CILT audits, report findings in morning meetings and contribute to TPM implementation.
• Investigate, report and attempt first‑level problem solving on all failures; elevate only after level‑one attempts.
• Complete Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for each stoppage.
• Maintain knowledge of spare‑parts lists, coordinate with specialists to secure parts after hours.
• Carry out running and non‑running schedules with quality feedback.
• Assist with maintenance package and cleaning schedule reviews, isolation and lock‑out of equipment.
• Execute preventive (PM) and corrective (CM) work orders, support autonomous maintenance and maintenance‑day activities.
• Support start‑up and commissioning of machines after maintenance and provide direct assistance to day‑shift crews when requested.

Required profile

• Proven experience in industrial plant maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work on a rotating shift and remain on‑site during breakdowns.
• Strong familiarity with plant management systems and maintenance procedures.
• Good communication skills to report findings and collaborate with standby teams.
