Senior Technician / Master Technician

About the role

Our client, a premium automotive dealership in Midrand, is looking for a highly skilled Senior Technician / Master Technician to join the after‑sales team. The successful candidate will work on premium passenger vehicles, delivering advanced diagnostics, repairs and maintenance to manufacturer standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle systems using specialised equipment.
• Identify and repair complex faults in engine, transmission, suspension, steering, braking, cooling and fuel systems.
• Carry out major repairs, servicing and maintenance to manufacturer specifications.
• Execute software updates, programming and vehicle coding where required.
• Conduct quality inspections and road tests before and after repairs.
• Complete repair orders accurately and efficiently.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians and apprentices.
• Liaise with service advisors on technical findings and repair recommendations.

Required profile

• Qualified Motor Mechanic (Red Seal Trade Test essential).
• Master Technician certification or equivalent advanced manufacturer qualification (advantageous).
• Minimum 8 years’ experience as a qualified automotive technician in a franchised dealership.
• Extensive experience with premium passenger vehicles.
• Valid driver’s licence.
