Senior Technician

About the role

The Senior Technician will join the Technical Division supporting Vodacom operations in KwaZulu‑Natal. This role focuses on the installation, commissioning and maintenance of electronic security systems while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring compliance with health, safety and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and maintain electronic security equipment, including CCTV, access control and intruder alarm systems.
• Communicate regularly with clients to develop and sustain positive relationships.
• Adhere to client agreements, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
• Provide feedback to the Operations Manager and manage documentation such as registers, overtime logs and route sheets.
• Submit fault reports, perform troubleshooting and be available for standby duties as required.
• Support project management activities and ensure timely delivery of reports and paperwork.

Required profile

• PSIRA registration and relevant certifications (GALAGHER, AVIGILON, RISCO alarm, ZITON FIRE).
• Clean criminal record and no adverse credit history.
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Specific knowledge of CCTV, access control, intruder alarms (CADDX, DSC, FBI, Telecom, IDS, PARADOX, COSMOS, PROSYS, Roko net).
• Strong computer literacy and networking ability.

Required skills

• Fault finding and troubleshooting of security equipment.
• Installation and maintenance of CCTV and access control systems.
• Knowledge of IP CCTV, fire and intrusion systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
