Senior Tax Practitioner – Cape Town

About the role

Our client is a well‑established accounting and tax practice located in Cape Town CBD. They are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Practitioner to join their close‑knit team and provide high‑quality tax services to a varied portfolio of individuals, trusts and SMEs.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax computations for individuals, companies and trusts.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and support complex tax matters.
• Manage a portfolio of tax clients, ensuring compliance with SARS deadlines.
• Liaise directly with SARS via eFiling and handle queries.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Income Tax, Provisional Tax, VAT, PAYE and Dividend Tax.

Required profile

• Relevant tax or accounting qualification.
• Registered Tax Practitioner (SAIT or SAIPA preferred).
• 6‑7+ years of practical tax experience within an accounting practice.
• Strong organisational skills and client‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.

Required skills

• SARS eFiling proficiency.
• In‑depth knowledge of Income Tax, Provisional Tax, VAT, PAYE and Dividend Tax.
• Tax computation preparation and review.
• Tax planning and advisory.
