Senior Structural Designer

About the role

Wood is seeking a Senior Structural Designer to produce high‑quality infrastructure models and drawings for plant construction projects. The role requires strict adherence to engineering best practices, company drafting procedures, and a strong focus on health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver 2D/3D structural models and detail drawings on schedule and within budget.
• Ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with design procedures and applicable standards.
• Submit error‑free drawings that meet sound engineering practices.
• Maintain accurate timesheets and support HSE KPI achievement.
• Assist in training junior draughtspersons and promote best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of design draughting experience, including at least 5 years in mining or minerals processing.
• Proven ability to work independently, focus on task completion, and check work for quality.
• Open mind to new ideas, strong team player, and commitment to safety.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Aveva E3D for steelwork modelling and drawing production.
• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software and company drafting procedures.
• Broad knowledge of construction, process plant design, and multidisciplinary coordination.
