Senior Quantity Surveyor – Mining & EPCM

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the planning and execution of mining and engineering projects from initial concept through to final delivery. The role involves managing complex contracts, controlling costs, and mentoring junior surveyors within a dynamic, project‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute mining & engineering projects from stage 1 to stage 6.
• Prepare feasibility studies, cost estimates, preliminary budgets, elemental estimates and procurement documents (BOQ production).
• Develop final accounts, fee proposals and contract documentation, including adjudication and cost reports.
• Manage complex mining & engineering contracts, ensuring cost control, cash‑flow projections and value engineering.
• Address budget constraints and logistical challenges to keep projects on track.
• Supervise and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors.

Required profile

• BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying.
• Professional registration with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) – non‑negotiable.
• Minimum 9 years post‑qualification experience in mining, EPCM or SMPP – non‑negotiable.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage contracts.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Win QS and Dim X software.
• Experience in contract administration and management.
• Strong cost control, cash‑flow projection and value‑engineering capabilities.
