Senior Quantity Surveyor – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

Our client, a leading mining company, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial, contractual and cost‑management leadership across major project activities. You will lead and manage the Quantity Surveying team while ensuring robust cost control and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Commercial and cost management for large‑scale mining and processing projects.
• Contract administration, including variations, claims and tendering support.
• Management of project controls, reporting and governance frameworks.
• Oversight of procurement activities and risk management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or BTech in Quantity Surveying.
• Professional registration as a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) with SACQSP or an equivalent international qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of quantity‑surveying and commercial‑management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
• Proven experience on major mining, minerals‑processing, infrastructure or EPCM projects.
• Strong background in contract administration, cost control, valuations, variations and claims.

Required skills

• Familiarity with FIDIC contracts (essential).
• Experience with NEC, JBCC or bespoke EPC/EPCM contracts.
• Project‑controls environment expertise.

What we offer

• Salary range R120 000 – R150 000 per month.
