Senior Project Manager – Water Tunnel Infrastructure

About the role

The Senior Project Manager – Water Tunnel Infrastructure will lead the delivery, coordination and contract administration of the Polihali Transfer Tunnel project. Based in Lesotho, this 12‑month fixed‑term role oversees design and construction supervision to meet project objectives, timelines and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of the project team.
• Act as the primary liaison between the client and all project stakeholders.
• Oversee contract administration in accordance with FIDIC conditions.
• Supervise design and construction activities for underground works.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, risks and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and construction functions.
• Report on project performance and key milestones.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer (Pr Eng or equivalent).
• Minimum 20 years post‑graduate civil engineering experience.
• Proven experience in major underground works (design and construction).
• At least 10 years experience in water resource development projects, including intakes, tunnels and related infrastructure.
• Minimum 5 years experience working with FIDIC contracts.
• Experience working in Africa or similar developing environments.
