Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager (Hybrid)

About the role

Flybox is seeking a Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager to lead the end‑to‑end delivery of its flagship Fortress installations. Based in Cape Town with a hybrid work model, you will oversee design, procurement and on‑site execution across international client sites.

Key responsibilities

• Own project delivery from contract signing through commissioning, managing scope, schedule, budget and quality.
• Lead procurement activities, supplier relationships and shipping logistics for modular insect‑farming systems.
• Coordinate on‑site installation, supervising local labour, third‑party contractors and commissioning workflows.
• Support client ramp‑up and training in partnership with the Operations Manager.
• Produce and maintain project documentation including Gantt charts, BOMs, site specifications and as‑built records.
• Manage client communications throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure CE marking, regulatory compliance and technical documentation for international projects.
• Provide technical feasibility input to the sales team and assist with preliminary project scoping.
• Travel to client sites in the UAE, Europe and South Africa for installation and commissioning phases.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering complex engineering projects independently.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, able to interact with engineers and clients alike.
• Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
• Experience in the insect‑waste‑management sector is an advantage but not mandatory.
