Senior Professional Nurse – Critical Care

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a Senior Professional Nurse to join its Critical Care unit. The role supports the Unit Manager in delivering safe, high‑quality patient care while mentoring new and student nurses.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure comprehensive and safe patient care by mitigating clinical risks and meeting quality standards.
• Manage the client experience and coordinate care delivery.
• Optimize staffing resources through recruitment, retention and effective utilisation.
• Develop staff competence through continuous assessment, training and mentorship.
• Assist with operational expense management, including stock and capital control.

Required profile

• Professional Nurse qualification.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing for specialist units (e.g., Peri‑operative Nursing).
• Minimum 3 years of hospital nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of mentorship experience.
