Senior Production Manager (Apples & Pears)

About the role
We are seeking an energetic Senior Production Manager to lead our apple and pear farm in the Villiersdorp area. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all production activities and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Manage daily production operations for pome fruit cultivation.
- Maintain and audit quality management systems, including GlobalGAP and SIZA.
- Lead a team of sub‑ordinates, coordinating tasks and performance.
- Monitor crop health, harvest schedules, and post‑harvest handling.
- Report production metrics to senior management.
Required profile
- Matric qualification with an agricultural certificate.
- More than 10 years of experience in fruit cultivation, specifically pome fruits.
- Proven ability to manage an entire production unit.
- Strong human relations and communication abilities.
- Basic computer literacy, particularly Excel.
Required skills
- Excel (basic proficiency)
- Knowledge of GlobalGAP quality standards
- Knowledge of SIZA certification requirements
