Senior Manager – Legal Compliance, Investigations & Contracts

About the role

The Senior Manager will lead legal compliance, investigations and contract oversight for the municipality. This senior position reports to the City Manager and supports the MPAC in ensuring governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate and analyse the municipality's control environment.
• Prepare investigation reports for submission to the City Manager and MPAC.
• Assist with the development of an overall compliance programme.
• Provide oversight on contract management, enforcement and termination.
• Conduct legal research and deliver legal opinions and advice.
• Manage investigations of poor planning, maladministration and governance irregularities.

Required profile

• LLB degree or Bachelor’s degree in Law with a focus on Forensics.
• Admission as an Attorney or Advocate (advantageous).
• Computer literate – proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
• Valid code EB driver’s licence.
• At least ten years of legal or forensic investigation experience, with five years at a managerial or senior level.
