About the role
The Swan IT Team is looking for a dedicated Senior Linux Engineer to design, implement and maintain Linux‑based systems and infrastructure in Cape Town. You will ensure stability, security and performance of server environments while managing automation and configuration tools.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain automation scripts and tools using Bash and PowerShell.
- Perform deployments, configuration management and system monitoring.
- Design, install and support Linux servers to ensure stability and high availability.
- Provide hardware support for servers and VMware system support.
- Maintain documentation and ensure optimal efficiency in batch environments.
Required profile
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of Linux experience in a server environment.
- 1+ year of VMware experience.
- 1+ year building highly automated environments with Bash and PowerShell.
- Preferable experience with HP/Dell hardware, CA AutoSys and basic cloud knowledge.
