Senior Leisure Travel Specialist (Cape Town)

About the role

The Private Bank in Cape Town seeks a Senior Leisure Travel Specialist to advise high‑net‑worth clients on domestic, regional and international leisure travel. You will create tailored itineraries, quote and book travel, and deliver an exceptional level of service that aligns with the bank’s duty‑of‑care standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quotes and issue bookings for flights, hotels, car hire and travel insurance.
• Upsell ancillary services while maintaining a client‑centric approach.
• Maintain and grow long‑term relationships with clients, bankers and internal stakeholders.
• Provide proactive problem‑solving, including after‑hours emergency support on a rotational basis.
• Ensure compliance with visa requirements and monitor travel‑related risks.
• Meet individual KPIs and performance targets set for leisure consultants.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in leisure travel, preferably within a travel agency environment.
• Strong knowledge of global destinations, products, accommodations and excursions.
• Proven ability to qualify enquiries, build rapport and deliver personalized recommendations.
• Experience working with Amadeus GDS for at least 5 years, including NDC bookings.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional after‑hours shifts.

Required skills

• Amadeus GDS proficiency
• NDC booking capability (Amadeus NDCx)
• Familiarity with Verteil / Thomalex platforms
• Knowledge of international and multi‑city fare structures
• Competence with internal CRM and IT systems
