Senior Legal Secretary

About the role

The law firm in Centurion is seeking a Senior Legal Secretary to support its Road Accident Fund (RAF) department. This role is client‑focused and requires extensive experience in RAF claims administration and legal secretarial duties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal secretarial and administrative support to attorneys handling RAF matters.
• Manage RAF claim files from inception through finalisation, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up‑to‑date.
• Draft, format, and prepare legal correspondence, pleadings, notices and other court documents.
• Liaise with clients, attorneys, advocates, medical practitioners, experts and third parties.
• Communicate with clients in English and at least one African language as required.
• Schedule consultations, court dates, medico‑legal assessments and other appointments.
• Monitor deadlines, follow up on outstanding documentation and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Required profile

• Minimum 8‑10 years of proven experience as a Legal Secretary within a RAF litigation environment.
• Fluent in English and at least one African language.
• Exceptional client care and relationship‑management abilities.
• Strong drafting, organisational and file‑management skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines.
