Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel will lead the drafting, review and negotiation of all major contracts for G7 Renewable Energies' utility‑scale renewable projects. Working closely with project teams, the role ensures that construction and operational activities are carried out in line with legal obligations and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review and negotiation of project agreements such as EPC, split‑scope, O&M, commercial, property and ancillary contracts.
• Draft legal responses to tenders, due‑diligence requests and coordinate supporting documentation.
• Identify, engage and manage external legal advisors and subject‑matter experts as required.
• Coordinate with lenders’ counsel, procure external legal opinions and support financial close processes.
• Maintain up‑to‑date contractual records, PAIA manuals and risk registers.
• Advise on contract disputes, draft legal correspondence and support resolution efforts.
• Review and improve internal legal processes, policies and regulatory compliance frameworks.

Required profile

• Extensive experience drafting and negotiating complex energy‑sector contracts, including PPAs, EPC and O&M agreements.
• Proven ability to manage external counsel and liaise with lenders and other stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of risk management, contract administration and regulatory matters relevant to renewable energy projects.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder‑management and relationship‑building skills.
