Senior Legal Counsel – EMEA

About the role

RemotePass is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its Employment Legal team and lead cross‑border employment matters across the EMEA region. The role is senior, non‑traditional in‑house and works closely with Operations, Payroll, Mobility, Compliance, Sales and Product to support rapid global growth while managing legal risk.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice on complex employment law issues throughout the employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, disciplinary actions, restructurings, redundancies and terminations.
• Assess and mitigate legal risks related to international hiring, Employer of Record operations, immigration, benefits and workforce mobility across more than 100 jurisdictions.
• Lead high‑risk employee relations matters, coordinate litigation strategy with external counsel, and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Develop and maintain legal playbooks, templates and automated workflows to scale legal operations.
• Mentor junior legal staff, review external legal advice and act as escalation point for critical matters.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in employment law with a focus on cross‑border issues in the EMEA region.
• Proven ability to balance commercial objectives with legal risk management.
• Strong track record of leading complex legal projects and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of employment legislation across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.
• Experience managing Employer of Record, immigration and workforce mobility matters.
• Ability to draft and negotiate commercial agreements.
