Senior Legal Counsel – Commercial Contracting

About the role

As a Senior Legal Counsel – Commercial Contracting you will act as a strategic legal partner for BCG’s global, technology‑enabled business. You will lead complex commercial negotiations, shape contracting standards and build scalable legal solutions that support growth while protecting the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex commercial contracting, drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of agreements such as client services, vendor, technology/SaaS, licensing, NDAs and strategic partnerships.
• Provide clear, pragmatic advice that balances business objectives with legal integrity and identify commercial risk early.
• Develop, maintain and evolve global contracting playbooks, templates and negotiation guidance to drive consistency and efficiency.
• Embed appropriate legal guardrails into commercial workflows and move from one‑off advice to system‑level improvements.
• Leverage AI and digital tools to accelerate research, risk assessment, contract review and drafting while managing associated confidentiality and bias risks.
• Identify opportunities to scale legal support through automation, knowledge tools and repeatable workflows.
• Partner closely with Finance, Procurement, Risk, Compliance, Technology and business leadership as a cross‑functional strategic advisor.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in commercial contracting and corporate law, preferably within a global consulting or professional services environment.
• Strong commercial acumen, operational awareness and the ability to provide commercially aligned legal advice.
• Proven ability to develop and implement contracting standards, playbooks and scalable processes.
• Comfort with AI‑enabled legal tools and a solid understanding of the risks associated with their use.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across multiple functions.
