Senior Legal Advisor – International Transactions

About the role

The Senior Legal Advisor will provide expert legal advice and support on the financing activities of DBSA, ensuring that all initiatives and investments are legally sound and protect the organisation’s portfolio. The role also involves mentoring junior legal professionals and promoting consistent legal counsel across the entity.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive legal advice on domestic and international financing transactions.
• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, loan agreements, and related documentation.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks to safeguard the investment portfolio.
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to support investment decisions.
• Lead, coach, and develop junior members of the legal team.

Required profile

• Law degree with admission to practice.
• Significant experience (typically 8+ years) in banking, finance, or international transaction law.
• Proven track record of handling complex financing structures.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
