About the role
We are seeking a Senior Key Account Manager to lead and expand our established key‑account portfolio within the meat processing and food‑ingredient sectors. The role focuses on building long‑term commercial partnerships both locally in South Africa and internationally, driving profitable growth across the global food industry.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and grow a large, well‑established key‑account base in the meat processing and related food‑ingredient markets.
- Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and identify new revenue opportunities.
- Act as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Identify upselling and cross‑selling opportunities, negotiate contracts, renewals, and pricing.
- Resolve client issues promptly and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Track account performance, prepare reports, and provide insights to stakeholders.
- Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
Required profile
- Tertiary qualification in food technology or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience managing major key accounts locally and internationally within spices, marinades, sauces, food ingredients, or meat‑processing markets.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, sales, and negotiation skills.
- Strategic thinking, planning abilities, resilience, and proactive problem‑solving.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
