Senior Java Backend Engineer (Spring Boot)

About the role

Communicate Finance is looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join a high‑performing technology squad. You will design, build and maintain critical backend services that handle high‑volume, real‑time transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop robust Java and Spring Boot services.
• Drive performance, reliability and scalability of transaction‑processing systems.
• Build secure, well‑documented RESTful APIs and modernise legacy platforms.
• Collaborate with the squad to make architectural decisions and mentor junior teammates.
• Champion best practices in CI/CD, testing and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Proven ability to build scalable, high‑performance systems.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and event‑driven architectures.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
