Senior iOS Engineer (South Africa)

About the role

We are seeking a senior iOS Engineer to join a high‑impact product team building a large‑scale iOS application used by millions. The role blends hands‑on Swift development with architectural decision‑making, technical collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production‑grade iOS applications using Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI.
• Own features from concept through delivery, applying a continuous‑delivery approach.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and collaborate with backend engineers to optimise client‑server communication.
• Work closely with product managers and designers to translate ideas into accessible, high‑quality mobile experiences.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code, including unit and integration tests.
• Contribute to test automation, code reviews, refactoring, and architectural discussions.
• Help define and improve iOS development standards, patterns, and engineering practices.
• Mentor other engineers and actively participate in Agile ceremonies.

Required profile

• Experienced iOS engineer with a strong understanding of mobile development practices and software architecture.
• Comfortable working independently while contributing to a high‑performing product team.
• Proven ability to deliver reliable, scalable user experiences at scale.
