Senior Inbound Travel Consultant – FIT & Group Bookings

About the role

The Senior Inbound Travel Consultant will design, operate and manage bespoke FIT and group bookings for Japanese travelers visiting Southern and East Africa. You will ensure a high level of service from the initial quote through to travel documentation and post‑trip support.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and prepare detailed travel itineraries, offering advice to enhance the guest experience.
• Manage bookings from quotation to invoicing, including travel documentation and release dates.
• Source alternatives and resolve availability challenges, ensuring bookings are confirmed and reconfirmed.
• Compile operational documents such as rooming lists, invoices and guide briefs.
• Conduct quality control of all bookings and resolve account queries within set deadlines.
• Provide professional, solution‑focused communication with customers.
• Mentor and support junior team members as required.

Required profile

• Grade 12 essential; tertiary qualification in Travel and Tourism preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of inbound reservations experience, preferably at a senior level.
• Proven ability to design and operate bespoke itineraries for both groups and individual travelers.
• Experience with the Japanese market is highly beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of travel products, destinations and logistics in Southern and East Africa.
• Professional, calm and solutions‑driven attitude with the ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with UDMS reservation system.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
