Senior Forensic Manager: Investigations

About the role

Old Mutual is looking for a Senior Forensic Manager for Investigations in Pinelands. The role leads, transforms and continuously improves the Group's investigations capability, providing strategic, operational and technical leadership over complex forensic investigations involving fraud, corruption, financial crime, misconduct, regulatory breaches, procurement irregularities, cyber-enabled financial crime and other matters that expose the Group to financial, legal, regulatory, operational and reputational risk. It also builds the investigations function into an intelligence-led, data-enabled and technology-driven capability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all significant forensic investigations, including high-profile, complex and sensitive matters, and direct them from allegation assessment through to final reporting
• Establish investigation methodologies, frameworks and standards, ensuring independence, objectivity and legal defensibility
• Manage evidence collection and preservation, and support disciplinary, civil, criminal and regulatory action where appropriate
• Testify, where necessary, at disciplinary hearings, regulatory proceedings and legal forums
• Build and mature an intelligence-led capability using fraud intelligence, analytics and data visualisation, and develop key financial crime indicators
• Drive adoption of advanced investigative technologies, automation and AI-enabled solutions, and improve digital evidence management
• Set up quality assurance frameworks, review reports for accuracy and legal defensibility, and turn findings into remediation actions
• Act as escalation point for major investigation decisions, allocate resources by risk priority and monitor performance through metrics and reporting
• Lead, coach and develop a nationally based investigations team, build specialist capability and drive succession planning
• Advise Executive Management, work with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Human Capital and Internal Audit, engage regulators and law enforcement, and present trends and insights to executives
