Senior Fleet Controller

About the role

Our client, a respected transport and logistics company operating a modern fleet of heavy commercial vehicles, is seeking a Senior Fleet Controller to oversee daily fleet operations in Eloff, Mpumalanga. The role involves coordinating a fleet of 15‑25 abnormal side‑tipper trucks, ensuring efficient route planning, driver productivity and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, monitor and allocate daily routes and deliveries for the fleet.
• Track fuel usage, vehicle performance and overall fleet efficiency.
• Coordinate servicing, repairs and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with legal, safety and company requirements.
• Monitor driver behaviour, enforce policies and investigate incidents.
• Utilise the Transport Management System (TMS) to manage fleet activities.
• Collaborate closely with Operations and internal stakeholders to guarantee service delivery.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Fleet Controller in transport or logistics.
• Experience with side‑tipper or PBS truck operations is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of route planning, fleet scheduling and transport operations.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Transport Management System (TMS) usage.
• Fleet tracking and telematics.
