Senior Financial Auditor

About the role

Fidelity Services Group is seeking a skilled Senior Financial Auditor to join its Group Risk & Compliance (GRC) Division. The role involves leading internal financial audit engagements across the Group and its subsidiaries, providing independent assurance on financial controls, governance, compliance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, scope and execute financial audits in line with the approved Internal Audit Plan.
• Conduct risk‑based assessments to identify financial exposures, control gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare audit programmes, working papers and documentation following IIA standards.
• Perform substantive testing, analytical reviews and walkthroughs of key financial processes.
• Prepare clear audit findings and management reports and present outcomes to senior stakeholders.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and support Audit Committee reporting.
• Ensure audit activities comply with IFRS, South African GAAP, Companies Act, POPIA, PSIRA regulations and King V principles.
• Identify fraud risk indicators and contribute to financial risk registers.
• Build relationships with finance, operations and compliance teams and liaise with external auditors.
• Provide guidance and coaching to junior audit team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or equivalent (BCom).
• 3–5 years of external audit experience, preferably in an audit firm.
• Experience in financial auditing, risk‑based auditing and internal controls.
• Ability to manage multiple audit assignments simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel nationally as required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IFRS and South African GAAP.
• Familiarity with IIA audit standards and methodology.
• Understanding of King V governance principles.
• Awareness of POPIA, Companies Act and PSIRA regulations.
• Experience with audit management software such as CaseWare or IDEA.
