Senior Director of General Management – Cape Town

About the role

PepsiCo is seeking a senior leader to drive the overall strategy and execution of its bakery business across South Africa. Reporting to senior corporate leadership, the role will oversee production, distribution and sales of short‑shelf‑life bakery products, ensuring freshness, quality and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Bakery Category strategy to achieve topline growth, market share and margin targets.
• Translate corporate objectives into detailed business plans and align cross‑functional partners.
• Lead multi‑disciplinary teams across Marketing, Sales, R&D, Integrated Supply Chain, HR and Finance.
• Manage KPIs and budgets, identify corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
• Build and position brands, overseeing marketing mix, pricing strategy and budget allocation.
• Set go‑to‑market priorities for General Trade and Modern Trade and partner with Commercial functions to execute channel plans.
• Drive innovation by collaborating with R&D and identifying consumer‑focused product opportunities.
• Ensure end‑to‑end alignment from production through supply chain to commercial functions.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in the bakery or broader FMCG sector.
• Strong strategic planning capability with a track record of delivering growth targets.
• Ability to lead large, cross‑functional teams and manage multiple manufacturing sites.
• Experience in KPI and budget management, as well as continuous improvement initiatives.
