Senior Data Engineer – In-Office (Cape Town)

About the role

An exceptional opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer to join one of the world's leading technology businesses in the online gaming industry, building the cloud‑native data platform that powers analytics, AI/ML and commercial reporting across a global operation.

Key responsibilities

• Design high‑performance SQL data models and scalable ELT pipelines using Snowflake, Python, dbt and AWS.
• Own large‑scale data domains, building curated data products and ensuring reliable, high‑quality insights.
• Optimize Snowflake performance and cost efficiency through query tuning and best‑practice implementation.
• Establish data quality, observability and engineering standards while collaborating with data scientists, analytics engineers and platform teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of commercial data engineering experience.
• Expertise in SQL design, optimisation and complex query tuning.
• Strong Python development skills and experience building ELT pipelines.
• Extensive Snowflake experience, including performance tuning and cost management.
• Advanced proficiency with dbt and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
