Senior Construction Estimator – Sherwood, KZN

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Construction Estimator to lead our Tender Department. The successful candidate will manage the full tender lifecycle for large‑scale building and civil projects, ensuring accurate cost estimates and timely submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess tender opportunities and coordinate pre‑tender activities.
• Manage the complete tender process from enquiry through to submission.
• Prepare and review Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, cash flows, programmes and methodologies.
• Lead and mentor the Tender Department staff, providing technical guidance and performance management.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain supplier databases and strong stakeholder relationships.
• Support business development, risk management and commercial strategies.

Required profile

• 10+ years of estimating experience in building and civil construction.
• Extensive CCS experience and proven rate‑build‑up capability.
• Hands‑on experience with large‑scale projects such as warehouses, high‑rise buildings or hospitals.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a tender team and manage the full tender process.
• Strong client‑facing and commercial negotiation skills.
