Senior Civil Engineer/Technologist - Associate

About the role

The Senior Civil Engineer/Technologist will lead the design and modelling of civil infrastructure projects using advanced Bentley and Autodesk software suites. The role combines technical design, BIM coordination and mentorship of a digital engineering team to deliver high‑quality road, drainage and utility solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform civil engineering design and modelling using Bentley OpenRoads or Autodesk Civil 3D, including road corridors, earthworks, and utilities.
• Develop custom sub‑assemblies, manage BIM models in BIM 360 and Navisworks, and conduct clash detection and resolution.
• Guide, mentor and supervise a team of BIM modellers, ensuring quality control of 2D and 3D deliverables to local and international standards.
• Produce 3D visualisations with InfraWorks and coordinate multidisciplinary model federation.
• Support project management activities, cost estimating, technical feasibility studies and construction monitoring.

Required profile

• BSc (or BEng/BTech) in Civil Engineering.
• Registered Candidate Professional Engineer with ECSA; PrEng/PrTech registration advantageous.
• 3–5 years of experience in civil services infrastructure design.
• Proven ability to work with both Bentley and Autodesk design suites.

• Bentley OpenRoads, MicroStation V8i, ProjectWise.
• Autodesk Civil 3D (2018‑2021), AutoCAD, Devotech iDAS.
• InfraWorks, Navisworks, Revit Structures, BIM 360.
• Subassembly Composer for custom Civil 3D components.
• ISO 19650 BIM standards and British rail/highway standards.
