Senior Bookkeeper – Johannesburg South

About the role

We are a young, dynamic bookkeeping and financial services firm located in the Southern Suburbs of Johannesburg. We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to manage a portfolio of client books, delivering full‑function bookkeeping and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare full‑function bookkeeping entries up to balance‑sheet and financial‑statement level.
• Liaise with clients to understand their financial needs and provide timely support.
• Complete statutory returns and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Capture data from bank statements, perform bank reconciliations and produce income statements.
• Work across diverse industries and company sizes, adapting to varied client requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting firm handling a client portfolio.
• BCom or equivalent qualification.
• Own vehicle and a valid driver’s licence.
• Fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
• Residence preferably in the Southern Suburbs of Johannesburg.

• SAGE accounting software.
• Pastel accounting software.
• Xero accounting software.
• Caseware financial reporting tool.
