Senior Bookkeeper (Accounting & Trust Management)

About the role

Our client, a leading designer and manufacturer of safety and photoluminescent signage in Stikland, Bellville, is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to manage the full accounting function for the operating company and several associated trusts. The role demands high accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to handle multiple entities simultaneously.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the complete bookkeeping cycle up to trial balance.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee cash‑flow management and VAT calculations/submissions.
• Process payroll and perform related reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Ensure accurate financial records, internal controls, and compliance for multiple trusts.
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors.
• Monitor inter‑company and trust‑related transactions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for management.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
• Proven experience with Xero accounting software (essential).
• Experience in trust accounting and administration (essential).
• Strong knowledge of South African accounting principles, VAT, and statutory requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to manage multiple entities and bank accounts.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Manufacturing or signage industry experience is advantageous.
