Senior Backend Engineer, Booking Platform

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to drive the development of our high‑traffic booking platform. The role is fully remote and focuses on building scalable services that power seamless guest experiences for thousands of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services using PHP and Go.
• Lead the extraction of services from a monolithic architecture, defining ownership, migration strategies and resilient designs.
• Collaborate with product, design and frontend teams to deliver features that improve booking conversion and usability.
• Build and maintain clean, versioned APIs (REST, GraphQL) for traditional and AI‑driven integrations.
• Optimize system performance, reliability and uptime across booking flows.
• Participate in architectural planning and long‑term scalability decisions.
• Leverage AI‑assisted coding tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot) to accelerate delivery.
• Promote a culture of ownership, innovation and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience with strong software fundamentals.
• Proven production‑grade experience with PHP and ability to work with Go.
• Hands‑on experience building high‑traffic, customer‑facing systems.
• Demonstrated success decomposing monoliths into service‑oriented architectures.
• Solid understanding of API design, versioning and integration best practices.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor or Copilot.
• Experience in product‑oriented SaaS environments and cross‑functional collaboration.
