Senior Backend Developer – Centurion

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join a leading security solutions provider in Centurion. The role involves leading the design, development and delivery of backend services while ensuring high quality, performance and alignment with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for product and solution delivery across multiple teams.
• Manage and mentor a team of developers, ensuring adherence to best‑practice coding standards.
• Define and design architecture and technical implementations, collaborating with architects and other leads.
• Deliver strategic projects on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Maintain and enhance existing systems, preventing defects and adopting new technologies.
• Document system designs and enhancements to facilitate knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma with 4‑6 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience working in Scrum/Agile environments.
• Strong leadership, planning and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and a focus on quality.

Required skills

• C# programming language.
• .NET Core, WCF and Web API.
• Azure DevOps (TFS, Git) or MS Team Foundation Server.
• SQL Server 2016/2019, relational database design and complex SQL queries.
• SQL Reporting Services.
• Message‑queueing technologies such as RabbitMQ, ApacheMQ or Kafka.
• Multi‑threaded and parallel development.
• Service‑Oriented Architecture (SOA).
• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) – advantageous.
• Solid understanding of SOLID, KISS, TDD, DDD and clean coding practices.
