Senior Application Support Engineer – Java, Grafana, Loki

About the role

ScoutIT is seeking a Senior Application Support Engineer to join its Johannesburg team. You will be responsible for maintaining a global, production‑critical vehicle sales and contract validation platform, ensuring high availability and performance for dealers and business users.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor application health using Grafana and Loki dashboards.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve production incidents and integration failures.
• Perform log analysis, transaction tracing and initial root‑cause analysis.
• Support dealer and business user issues across front‑end, back‑end and integration layers.
• Assist with releases, deployments and production changes.
• Coordinate with Level 3 teams for code debugging, fixes and detailed root‑cause investigations.
• Create and maintain SOPs, runbooks and system documentation.

Required profile

• IT degree, diploma or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of application support experience in enterprise environments.
• Proven track record supporting Java applications, production systems and SQL databases.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Loki.
