Senior Accountant – SAIPA

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our professional team in Pretoria. The role involves managing a diverse portfolio of clients, preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with South African tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial statements using CaseWare.
• Manage client portfolios across various industries.
• Prepare and review management accounts.
• Prepare VAT, PAYE and income tax returns.
• Perform reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with statutory and SARS compliance.
• Prepare working papers and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with clients on accounting and tax matters.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure deadlines are met.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting practice.
• Fluent in Afrikaans (spoken and written).
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in CaseWare.
• Strong working knowledge of Pastel.
