Senior Accountant

About the role

Austell Pharmaceuticals is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Finance team. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and support the organisation's overall financial health.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and supporting schedules.
• Analyse financial performance against budgets, forecasts and prior periods, providing clear explanations and actionable insights.
• Coordinate month‑end and year‑end processes, including journals, accruals, provisions and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and supporting ledgers.
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow projections.
• Process local and foreign supplier payments and resolve related queries.
• Reconcile stock receipts, purchase orders, supplier invoices and third‑party warehouse records.
• Support ERP implementation, system integrations and continuous improvement of finance processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Accounting with Honours.
• One of the following experience pathways: CA with 2–3 years post‑articles commercial experience; CIMA with 2–3 years commercial experience; or BCom Honours with 3–5 years commercial experience.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
• Working knowledge of Pastel or a similar accounting system.
