Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead the accounting and financial reporting functions for a diversified group of companies operating in events, agriculture, property and related sectors. You will ensure accurate financial records, statutory compliance and timely reporting to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end and interim financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Maintain compliance with SARS regulations and other statutory bodies.
• Support external audits by preparing documentation and audit files.
• Process monthly VAT returns and reconcile Income Tax and VAT control accounts.
• Submit annual CIPC returns and ultimate beneficial ownership declarations.
• Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations including supplier payments, invoicing, payroll and fleet‑related cost tracking.
• Collaborate with depot and operations teams to provide real‑time financial insights.
• Handle ad‑hoc accounting tasks as directed by the Financial Manager.

Required profile

• BCom or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Completed SAIPA/SAICA/CIMA articles.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting or similar finance roles.
• Proven ability to prepare financial statements and manage regulatory compliance.
