Senior Accountant

About the role

Our client, a well‑established and growing organisation, is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance team. You will work closely with senior management, delivering accurate financial information and ensuring statutory compliance across multiple business entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Execute month‑end processes and perform general ledger, balance‑sheet, creditor, debtor and bank reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Prepare annual financial statements and submit VAT, income‑tax and other statutory returns.
• Liaise with auditors and regulatory authorities, including SARS eFiling.
• Strengthen internal controls, financial processes and provide financial advice to senior management.
• Supervise and mentor finance and administrative staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• 2‑3 years of experience in a senior accounting or similar finance role.
• Strong knowledge of management accounting, financial reporting and statutory compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills and ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems (SAP Business One preferred).
• Proficiency in VAT, tax submissions and SARS eFiling.
