Senior Accountant

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records. You will own key accounting processes across month‑end reporting, reconciliations, tax compliance support, fixed assets and audit preparation. The role blends strong technical accounting capability with a practical, solutions‑driven mindset in a fast‑growing business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post month‑end journals, including accruals, pre‑payments, depreciation and payroll entries.
• Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and support management accounts.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, manage additions, disposals and depreciation, and track capital expenditures.
• Assist with cost‑accounting processes, overhead allocations and cost‑centre reporting.
• Prepare and support VAT, PAYE and other statutory submissions; liaise with SARS and respond to audit queries.
• Support audit preparation and year‑end closing activities.

Required profile

• Owns work end‑to‑end; delivers reconciliations, journal entries and month‑end deliverables accurately and on time.
• Strong technical accounting skills with attention to detail and compliance.
• Process‑oriented; identifies inefficiencies and proposes improvements.
• Clear, professional communication with colleagues, auditors, regulators and external stakeholders.
• Comfortable leveraging technology and AI‑enabled tools to improve reporting accuracy and automate routine tasks.
