Senior Accountant / Bookkeeper

About the role

Desco Electronic Recyclers, a Kempton Park‑based e‑waste recycling company, is seeking a diligent and motivated Accountant to own the financial management of the business and its group entities. Reporting directly to the Directors, you will ensure accurate reporting, compliance and efficient cash flow management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and present monthly management accounts.
• Manage cash flow, forecasting and budgeting across all branches.
• Maintain accounting records in XERO for the group entities.
• Oversee inter‑company loan accounts, VAT submissions and SARS compliance.
• Review fixed asset register, depreciation and petty‑cash controls.
• Lead, train and develop the Finance Department staff.
• Approve supplier payments and major client invoicing.
• Liaise with external auditors, banks and insurance brokers.
• Handle statutory filings such as CIPC annual returns, trust UBO, provisional taxes, income tax returns and VAT 201.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi‑entity environment.
• Strong knowledge of XERO accounting software.
• Demonstrated experience with SARS, VAT and statutory compliance.
• Ability to use AI tools to improve reporting efficiency.
