Security Engineer

About the role

Information Security Architects (ISA) is seeking a motivated Security Engineer to join its team in Woodmead, Sandton. The role involves delivering professional security services, including implementation, consulting and escalated support for a range of security technologies used by ISA’s customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain security technologies such as next‑generation firewalls, VPN, ZTNA, SD‑WAN and secure web gateways.
• Deliver security projects from technical planning through to execution.
• Produce technical documentation, reports and project artefacts.
• Provide technical consulting and escalated support to customers.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of full‑time experience with security technologies.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with Fortinet solutions.
• Relevant tertiary or industry qualifications in IT systems, networking or security.
• Security vendor certifications and knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication, systematic problem‑solving approach and keen attention to detail.

• Fortinet technologies (firewalls, VPN, ZTNA, SD‑WAN).
• Next‑generation firewalls and threat‑prevention solutions.
• Secure web gateways and web application firewalls.
• Authentication mechanisms and endpoint protection/EDR.
• Security log and event analytics platforms.
