Scrum Master – Gauteng

About the role

We are a fast‑moving fintech looking for a Scrum Master to join the Product & Delivery team in Gauteng. The role will act as the operational engine for 2‑3 concurrent programmes, ensuring agile practices are followed and delivery flow is protected.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and retrospectives for 2–3 concurrent programmes.
• Keep ceremonies purposeful, time‑boxed and outcome‑driven, adapting facilitation style to team maturity.
• Identify, log and resolve team‑level blockers, escalating when necessary with context and recommended solutions.
• Monitor team dynamics, morale and delivery rhythm, coaching members on agile values and practices.
• Maintain sprint boards, track velocity, capacity and forecast accuracy, and enforce Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
• Collaborate with Business Analyst and Tester to evolve requirements, ensure quality objectives and manage dependencies.
• Support backlog hygiene, facilitate stakeholder sessions and act as first line of escalation for delivery issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master driving delivery across multiple concurrent projects.
• Ability to identify and resolve blockers independently and know when to escalate.
• Strong facilitation skills, adapting approach to team maturity and programme context.
• Experience coaching teams on agile values and continuous improvement.
• Capability to monitor and improve team dynamics, morale and delivery rhythm.
• Familiarity with maintaining sprint metrics, dashboards and enforcing Definition of Ready/Done.
